100 years working with the community, 1908 - 2008
This scheme aims to reduce accidents and injuries in the home. If you are aged 50+ and would like us to visit to check if your home is safe, just give us a call.
The kind of things we can help with are:
If your home requires minor works to be done in order to make it safer, the co-ordinator will arrange for the project's Handyman Bruce to visit and he may be able to carry out the work FREE of charge.
The kind of things he can do include fitting smoke alarms and long-life light bulbs, repairing steps, securing trailing cables, fixing down loose carpets and rugs, and fitting security devices.
If he can't do the work, we will wherever possible arrange for one of our other projects to visit, or refer you to a more suitable agency.
We also give talks, home safety training and present displays to groups throughout Hammersmith and Fulham e.g. senior citizen's clubs, luncheon clubs, day centres, and local agencies etc.
