Why Do We Need Your Help?
Mrs B is 86, housebound and isolated. Our Careline service calls her every weekday to say hello and see how she is. Today we rang 94 elderly people like Mrs B.
Agnes is 19 and has a learning disability. BCH found and trained a volunteer mentor to support her in her wish to go to college. She hopes eventually to get her own flat and to live independently. Our Small Jobs Scheme fitted new light bulbs for Alf, who is 78. He had been living in the dark for two weeks.
Mrs J is elderly and lives with her disabled son. Until last year, their bathroom was inaccessible. Neither of them were able to use it. Our Care & Repair project designed a new bathroom, secured a grant to pay for the work, put the job out to tender with approved contractors and supervised the renovation. Mrs J and her son are now able to have a bath in their own home. You can help to support our work with Alf, Mrs B and many others by making a donation to Bishop Creighton House.
